How fresh graduates can make a CV website that gets interviews

A CV website is your CV as one link, with the things a PDF can't show well: projects, achievements, internships, certificates and campus activities. Keep the facts the same as your CV, put education and your best project near the top, and offer a one-tap CV download.

Why a CV website helps a fresh graduate

Recruiters often see hundreds of similar CVs for one entry-level job. A one-page PDF can't show much beyond your CGPA and a list of skills. A CV website lets you show proof: the project you built, the competition you won, the event you organised, the paper you wrote.

It does not replace your CV. Most companies still want a PDF for their system. It sits next to it, as a link on your CV, your LinkedIn and your email.

What to put on it

  • A short intro: your name, degree, university, and the role you are looking for.
  • Education, with your CGPA if it helps you.
  • Two to four projects, each with what you did and a link or photos.
  • Internships and part-time work, with one line of what you achieved in each.
  • Achievements: competitions, scholarships, awards, dean's list.
  • Campus and co-curricular activities: clubs, volunteering, events you led.
  • Certificates and courses that relate to the job.
  • Paper publications or research, if you have them.
  • A one-tap CV download and your contact details.

Make projects the strongest part

Projects show what you can do, not just what you studied. A BBA graduate can show a market research report or a business plan competition. An engineering graduate can show a thesis project or an app. A marketing graduate can show a campaign for a club event. For each one, write the problem, what you did and the result, in three or four lines, with photos or a link.

Keep it consistent with your CV

Recruiters notice when your website, LinkedIn and CV say different things. Keep dates, job titles and grades the same everywhere. Update all three together when something changes.

Use a professional photo and an email address with your name, not a nickname.

Tailor it to the jobs you want

If you are applying for marketing roles, put your marketing projects and activities first. For a software role, lead with code. Many applications in Bangladesh go through applicant tracking systems, so also use the words from the job post in your PDF CV, and keep the PDF to one page as a fresh graduate.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Copying your PDF CV word for word, with nothing extra.
  • Listing skills you can't talk about in an interview.
  • Claims you can't back up, or numbers you don't remember.
  • A design so colourful it is hard to read.
  • A broken CV download link. Test it on your phone.

Questions

Do fresh graduates really need a portfolio website?

It is not required, but it helps you stand out. It shows projects and achievements a one-page CV can't, and gives recruiters one link to everything about you.

Should my CV website replace my PDF CV?

No. Keep a one-page PDF CV for applications, and put your website link on it. Offer the PDF as a download on the website too.

What if I don't have any work experience?

Lead with projects, achievements and campus activities. A thesis, a competition, a club event you organised or a volunteer role all show what you can do.

How do I make a CV website without coding?

With EZ Portfolio you pick the CV or Campus template, fill in your education, projects and achievements, and publish at yourname.ezportfolio.app with a Download CV button built in.
