How to make a digital marketing portfolio that shows results
A digital marketing portfolio leads with results. Show 3 to 6 case studies, each with the client's goal, what you did, and the numbers before and after, filtered by platform. Add the brands you have worked with, your tools and certifications, and your service packages.

Clients hire results, not activity
"Managed Facebook page, posted daily, ran ads" describes work, not value. A business owner wants to know what changed: more messages, more orders, cheaper leads. Every part of your portfolio should point at results you can prove.
Write case studies with before and after
Three to six good case studies are worth more than a long list of clients. Use the same simple shape for each:
- The client and their goal: "A Dhaka clothing brand wanted more online orders before Eid."
- The challenge: what was not working before.
- What you did: audience, creatives, budget plan, landing page, content calendar.
- The result, before and after: cost per message, orders, return on ad spend, reach or followers, and over what period.
Add a screenshot of the results dashboard (Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Google Analytics) with private details blurred.
Only share numbers you can prove, and ask the client before naming them. If you can't name a client, describe them: "a skincare brand in Chattogram".
Sort your work by platform
Clients usually need help with one channel at a time. Let them filter your case studies by platform: Facebook and Instagram ads, Google Ads, TikTok, SEO, email, content. A client looking for Google Ads help should find your Google work in one click.
Add proof: brands, tools and certifications
- Logos or names of brands you have worked with, if they agree.
- The tools you use: Meta Ads Manager, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Search Console, Canva, CapCut, scheduling tools.
- Certifications such as Google Ads or Meta Blueprint, with a link to verify them if possible.
- A short comment from a client about the result, with their permission.
Show packages clients can buy
Small businesses in Bangladesh often want a clear monthly package. Show two or three, each with a price and what is included: number of posts, ad campaign setup and management, reporting. Say whether the ad budget is included or paid separately, because clients often confuse the two.
If you don't have big results yet
- Run a small campaign for a friend's business or your own page, with a modest budget, and document it honestly.
- Grow a page in one niche and show the before and after.
- Share what you learned from a campaign that did not work. It shows you understand the numbers.
- Don't borrow screenshots or results from courses or other marketers.
